Cambodhrra Cambodian Partnership for Development Human Resource in Rural Area Association

CamboDHRRA, in collaboration with WWF Cambodia, successfully organized a two-day workshop aimed at fostering multi-stakeholder partnerships and advancing for sustainable natural rubber. The event chaired by Dr. Nhean Sophea, Director of the Rubber Development of General Directorate of Rubber, Mr. Dipanka Patnaik, Director of the Conservation Program of WWF Cambodia, and Mr. Him Noeun, Secretary General of CamboDHRRA and brought together 60 participants representing diverse sectors, including government agencies, private companies, civil society organizations, and agricultural cooperatives, particularly rubber-producing groups.
Key Highlights and Objectives of the Workshop:
Strengthening Collaboration: Facilitated meaningful dialogue and partnership-building among stakeholders, including public and private sector actors, rubber producers, and civil society organizations. The focus was on promoting the family rubber value chain to enhance livelihoods and economic resilience.
Progress and Challenges Review: Participants engaged in in-depth discussions to assess the progress and challenges faced by the multi-stakeholder partnership platform. This allowed for a better understanding of what has been achieved and what remains to be addressed to ensure the effective functioning of the platform.
Vision for Sustainability: The workshop emphasized the importance of developing a shared vision for sustainability in the rubber sub-sector. Discussions revolved around integrating critical environmental, social, and economic principles into the sector’s operations to create a balanced and long-term impact.
Action Plan Development: Participants collaborated to outline an action plan for the continued development of the rubber sub-sector, focusing on sustainable practices, inclusive growth, and resilience against global market challenges.
The workshop underscored the importance of cross-sector collaboration in driving sustainable development in Cambodia’s natural rubber sector. By aligning stakeholder efforts and incorporating sustainability principles, this initiative aims to strengthen Cambodia’s position in global rubber markets while safeguarding the environment and supporting local communities.
