From July 15 to 17, 2024, CamboDHRRA organized a training course on women’s empowerment to participate in the policy dialogue process, with a focus on contract farming. The event took place at Sunway Hotel, Phnom Penh. The objectives of the training were to:
Enhance participants’ knowledge and skills in advocacy principles and practices for constructive engagement with policymakers.
Equip participants with the ability to effectively mobilize support from stakeholders, including developing persuasion and negotiation skills.
The training was attended by women leaders from Agricultural Cooperatives across 12 provinces, including Tbong Khmum, Takeo, Kampot, Kampong Speu, Prey Veng, Kampong Thom, Battambang, Siem Reap, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Kandal, and Phnom Penh. Additionally, women representatives from civil society organizations participated, bringing the total number of attendees to 27.
The workshop successfully imparted gender knowledge and advocacy skills to the participants. The discussion groups also developed actionable plans and work goals to be implemented within their communities.
