Training Workshop on Constructive Engagement in the UNDFF Action Plan with a Focus on Gender and Youth

On December 23-24, 2024, CamboDHRRA, in collaboration with Action for the Development (AFD), proudly hosted the Workshop on Constructive Engagement on the UNDFF Action Plan, focus on gender and youth in the beautiful province of Kampong Thom with participation of 24 people included 14 women and xxx youth who came from Kampong Thom and Prahvihea provinces.

This two-day workshop was a pivotal moment in empowering women and youth to take on transformative roles in family farming, fostering sustainable development and inclusive policies under the United Nations Decade of Family Farming (UNDFF) framework.

Highlights of the Workshop:

  • Deepened participants’ understanding of the UNDFF framework and its goals, particularly the importance of youth and gender inclusivity in family farming.
  • Strengthened advocacy and policy engagement skills through interactive sessions, role-playing, and expert-led discussions.
  • Facilitated collaboration by bringing together diverse stakeholders to identify challenges, share experiences, and co-create solutions.
  • Equipped participants with tools and strategies to develop actionable local plans aligned with UNDFF goals for their communities.

Output:

  • Localized action plans created by participants to address challenges in family farming.
  • Enhanced capacity for policy dialogue, ensuring stronger voices in advocating for gender equity, youth inclusion, and sustainable practices.
  •  Strengthened networks for ongoing collaboration among participants and stakeholders.
