Cambodhrra Cambodian Partnership for Development Human Resource in Rural Area Association
On the morning of 12 December 2025, CamboDHRRA organized a preparatory meeting for the development of the CamboDHRRA Strategic Plan 2026–2030. The meeting was conducted online, presided over by Mr. Neth Sovann, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of CamboDHRRA, and facilitated by Mr. Him Noeun, Secretary General of CamboDHRRA.
A total of 11 participants (including one woman) attended the meeting, comprising Board members, members, and staff of CamboDHRRA.
The meeting was organized with the following objectives:
- To familiarize CamboDHRRA staff and members with the strategic plan development process;
- To provide CamboDHRRA members with an opportunity to contribute to the design of the upcoming country strategic planning workshop; and
- To clarify and assign inputs and responsibilities for the country strategic planning workshop.
The Preparatory Meeting for the development of the CamboDHRRA Strategic Plan 2026–2030 marked an important first step in ensuring a participatory, inclusive, and well-informed strategic planning process. The meeting successfully familiarized Board members, members, and staff with the proposed strategic development approach, clarified roles and responsibilities, and created a shared understanding of the timeline, stakeholders, and key milestones ahead.
Through open and constructive discussions, participants reaffirmed CamboDHRRA’s unique identity and added value as a national multi-stakeholder platform that coordinates agribusiness value chains across public, private, producer, and civil society actors. Strong emphasis was placed on strengthening this coordinating role, deepening engagement with the private sector, and leveraging CamboDHRRA’s proven experience in agroecology and regional networking, particularly through collaboration with AsiaDHRRA, ALiSEA and other networks.
The meeting also generated concrete recommendations to enhance the quality and relevance of the new strategic plan. These included expanding stakeholder engagement especially with relevant government ministries and conducting Key Informant Interviews with key public-sector actors and peer networks to ensure alignment with national strategies and broader development priorities. Participants further highlighted the importance of focusing future farmer forums and learning events on clear, priority topics that deliver practical and measurable outcomes for farmers and member organizations.
Overall, the meeting concluded with strong collective ownership of the strategic planning process and formal endorsement of the proposed workflow and agenda. With clear next steps agreed upon and a commitment to transparent communication with all members, CamboDHRRA is well positioned to move forward with a robust, evidence-based, and forward-looking Strategic Plan 2026–2030 that responds to emerging challenges and opportunities while strengthening its role in advancing sustainable agriculture and rural development in Cambodia.
